HTC Desire, Guida al Root Windows, Mac, Linux

Necessorio per prima cosa scaricare e decomprimere l'SDK all'interno del proprio disco c:

Step I: (entrare in modalità Bootloader)

Scaricare ed estrarre Fastboot

Utenti Windows: mettete il Desire in modalità Fastboot, aprite il terminale o prompt e digitate fastboot-windows oem unlock

Utenti Mac: mettete il Desire in modalità Fastboot, aprite il terminale o prompt e digitate ./fastbook-mac oem unlock

Uteniti Linux: mettete il Desire in modalità Fastboot, aprite il terminale o prompt e digitate ./fastbook-linux oem unlock

Step II: (ottenere permessi Root)

Scaricate ed estrate ora il Superboot.zip

Utenti Windows: mettete il Desire in modalità Fastboot e cliccate su install-superboot-windows.bat

Uteni Mac: mettete il Desire in modalità Fastboot, aprite il terminale e digitate “chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh [Enter] e poi “./install-superboot-mac.sh [Enter]

Utenit Linux: mettete il Desire in modalità Fastboot, aprite il terminal e digitate “chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh [Enter] e poi “./install-superboot-linux.sh [Enter]

A questo punto dovrebbe essere tutto eseguito e dovreste avere i permessi di Root. Guida ovviamente non provata ancora per mancanza del telefono.

Windows Users: enter bootloader mode by opening a command prompt and browse to the directory containing the fastboot files that you extracted, then type fastboot-windows oem unlock
Mac Users: enter bootloader mode by opening a terminal window and browse to the directory containing the fastboot files that you extracted, then type ./fastbook-mac oem unlock
Linux Users: enter bootloader mode by opening a terminal window and browse to the directory containing the fastboot files that you extracted, then type ./fastbook-linux oem unlock

Step II: (Gaining root access)

Download the Superboot.zip file and extract to a new folder on your desktop

Put your device in bootloader mode (see step I above)

Windows Users: double click install-superboot-windows.bat from within the new Superboot directory on your desktop
Mac Users: launch the terminal application and go to the directory containing the extracted Superboot files, then type chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh [Enter], followed by ./install-superboot-mac.sh [Enter]
Linux Users: open a terminal window and browse to the directory containing the extracted Superboot files, then type chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh [Enter], followed by./install-superboot-linux.sh [Enter]

Voila! Your HTC Desire is now 'rooted'.

Ma c'è per caso qualcuno che è riuscito a rootare il Desire?? Perchè a me proprio non va, ho provato sia su Mac che su Linux, ma non vuole saperne di andare....

PS: comunque per mettere il Desire in Fastboot l'unica procedura che per me ha funzionato è stata:
- Spegnere in device
- tenere premuto "vulome -" + "search" + "Power on"
;)

I understand that rooting my phone invalidates the warranty but entering the bootloader mode only (just to try it), will it affect the warranty or not?

the root process invalid the warrenty of ony phones unfurtunately. You can delete the root installing the original rom over the root thath you done, but untill nopw i think there is no way for desire to update to the original rom.. Sure in the future wiil have this chance :)

try this:

Method Number 1

Turn off your phone
Press and hold the optical mouse
Turn on your phone
Now you'll get the bootloader mode

Method Number 2

Turn off your phone
Remove battery
Plug in USB cable
Wait for the battery icon to appear on the screen
When battery icon appears, replace battery
Then tap the Power button while holding the Camera key
Now you'll get the bootloader mode

root è una operazione che permette di avere dei permessi speciali per poter andare a modificare il telefono. In particolare il root serve per installare particolari programmi che per qualche motivo agiscono a basso livello sul sistema e non possono essere installati senza questi speciali permessi. Inoltre il root viene associato spesso a molti aggiornamenti modificati creati non dalla casa madre, ma sviluppati da persone esterne come appunto sviluppatori autonomi. Nel mondo android questi aggiornamenti si chiamano Rom o Rom Cucinate (cooked rom in inglese) e spesso portano miglioramenti o funzionalità non presenti nel dispositivo originale..

Ovviamente l'operazione di root invalida la garanzia anche se è Reversibile :)
